The Crystal Creek Water Ditch Trail of the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area -An 1850s Historic Water Ditch-

It was Shasta County pioneer Charles Camden who named Crystal Creek after its crystal-clear flowing water in its channel. It was also Camden who built this present-day historic water ditch along its channel with his paid laborers between 1854 and 1856. However, what was the reason behind it? You will need a park pass to enter. The trail is an easy hike with incredible views of Crystal Creek along the way, and it's a one-way only 0.8-mile hike.
