First Labeled as a Townsite Which Dwindled into a Subdivision Called Santa Claus.

Filmed on location.

Perhaps you live in the present-day subdivision of Santa Claus, but don't know the history of the area and that is why your checking out this episode of Exploring Shasta County History, or perhaps you have a real interest in our local history, whatever the case may be this subdivision was originally laid out as a town site located just off of the old Buckeye Road (now Lake Boulevard). It came to fruition at the hands of Frederick A. Carmona and Orr M. Chenoweth, local Redding residents who had dreams of establishing a town site in the 1930s. Come learn about the history of Santa Claus, first labeled as a townsite which dwindled into a subdivision. It's my Christmas episode you don't want to miss as we're approaching the holiday season. Like, share, and comment on the video as well.
